Get ready for A1 content with this rigorous example schedule.
It works for most languages, but you might need to modify it. Some people have more or less time. Some people have to learn a new script in addition to everything else.
Don’t get discouraged if you can’t complete a full day at once, maybe take it extra slow. Do each day by week.
This plan can also be used to refresh your skills in a foreign language you used to speak.
⭐ The Challenge: Spend 30-60 minutes a day doing each task.
*If it’s taking you too long, just continue the next day. Add additional time for script learning. (Japanese, Mandarin, Greek, Arabic, etc)
😀Week 01:
Day 1: 5-10 Basic Greetings, 10 Basic Words (yes/no, etc) and Basic Pronunciation
Day 2: Sentence Structure + How to use Adjectives
Day 3: Overview of Verbs in Present Tense (How to say I do, You do, etc.)
Day 4: Pronouns + How to Address People
Day 5: Verb To Be, To Have, To Go, To Want and To Do
Day 6: Learn 10 Nouns and Adjectives
Day 7: Listen to the language with subtitles (even if you don’t understand), shadow for pronunciation
😆Week 02:
Day 8: Memorize 10-15 Survival Phrases
Day 9: Learn 10-20 Food Items/Dishes + How to Order at restaraunts
Day 10: Learn weather vocab
Day 11: Learn vocab related to public signs/notices (bathroom signs, caution, stop, train stations, etc)
Day 12: Learn the verbs to Take, to Bring, to Get and to Help
Day 13: Present, past and future tenses for regular verbs (apply this to your language as needed, just learn how to express these concepts. Not every language has conjugations.)
Day 14: Family Vocab

Day 15: Different ways of asking questions
Day 16: Describe your feelings
Day 17: 10 Verbs of your choice to learn
Day 18: Animals + House related vocab
Day 20: Read a short story geared towards complete beginners (Storybookscanada has free readers in many languages to choose from)
Day 21: Hygiene related vocab (toiletries, bathroom products, cleaning supplies, etc)
Day 22: Compound sentences ( Using and, or + but )
😂Week 04:
Day 23: Numbers + Counting
Day 24: How to talk about Time and make plans with someone
Day 25: Learn Negation – How to say “not” something
Day 26: Approximation words (some, any, never, etc)
Day 27: How to compare (more, most, less, best, worst, etc)
Day 28: Listen to the language again, with subtitles. See how much you can understand. Try children’s shows, like Peppa Pig. They have episodes on Youtube for many languages and you can turn closed captioning on.
Day 29: Vocab related to your hobbies or career.
Day 30: See how much you’ve learned and review! Consider if you want to purchase A1 or A2 level material in your target language to continue learning.
